Overview of Our Investment Casting Process
 
Our investment casting process involves several key steps tailored specifically to stainless steel alloys such as SS304, SS316, and other specialty grades:
 
1. Pattern Creation: We begin by crafting a precise wax model of the part, which is an exact replica of the final product. This model is crucial for ensuring the dimensional accuracy of the casting.
 
2. Shell Building: The wax model is then repeatedly dipped into a ceramic slurry, followed by strewing or sprinkling with fine sand. After several layers, the ceramic materials harden to form a robust mold.
 
3. Wax Removal: Once the ceramic shell is dry and hard, the wax is melted out, leaving a hollow cavity of the desired shape within the shell.
 
4. Molten Stainless Steel Pouring: Molten stainless steel is carefully poured into the preheated ceramic mold. This step is performed under controlled conditions to ensure the purity and properties of the metal are maintained.
 
5. Shell Removal: After the metal has solidified and cooled, the ceramic shell is vibrated or blasted away, revealing the near-net-shape stainless steel casting.
 
6. Finishing Touches: Any gates or runners from the casting process are removed, and the cast part may undergo further finishing processes such as grinding, polishing, or machining to achieve the specified surface finish and tolerances.
